02 — The players
Meet the band
Four of these five have shared a stage since 2015. The newest arrived in 2025 with a passport full of touring stamps. Every one of them sings.

Vocals · co-front
Reggie Brown
Reggie started performing at nine, in the church choir. He joined the Navy at nineteen and played in the ship's band, performing across Europe for other sailors and ships. After the Navy he moved to Maine and formed a group with former service members, then co-fronted GI3 for three years around the state. He went on to "Shaker" — a band that opened for and backed an Elvis impersonator — and performed solo until 2000. From 2000 to 2007 he fronted the Maine band "Colorblind" at weddings and events across the state. He moved to Charlotte in 2007 and fronted "Soundbridge" until 2009, when he became co-front of Flashback — singing and entertaining up and down the southeastern states ever since.

Vocals
Eu Yu
Eu Yu began her professional singing career in 1998 and has held contracts in Japan, China, India, Malaysia and the Philippines. From 2005 to 2020 she toured all over the Southeast. After retiring in 2020 she made a comeback in 2025 to join Flashback. Drawing on artists like Bruno Mars and Tina Turner and the vibrant sounds of the '90s, she is versatile — dancing, rapping and singing across any genre.
-
Vocals · trombone
Dwane Abney
Dwane and Monty met in the music department at Lander University, and the musical friendship has lasted decades. His humble attitude and his ability to get an audience singing and dancing along have made him a crowd favourite with Flashback — and you may well see him pick up a trombone on a few tunes.
-
Drums
Dave Starr
Dave Starr has played drums professionally since 1985, across groups in many genres. He has toured with a world-known boy band and recorded on other artists' albums, and has been part of Flashback since 2015. His listening runs Pop, R&B, Rock, Soul, Jazz, Hip Hop, Country, Soca, Reggae, Calypso, Rap, Gospel, orchestra and cultural music. That range has made him the pocket drummer who guarantees a full dance floor.
